About Me…
Hi, I’m Marina Contreiras. I’m a PR major who's passionate about sports and storytelling.
I am currently studying Public Relations at Penn State's Bellisario College of Communications. I also have minors in IST for Telecomm, Sports Studies, and Digital Media Trends and Analytics (DMTA), and am pursuing a certificate in Sports Journalism through the Curley Center.
Driven by my love of motorsports & media, I started a Formula One podcast called Lights Out Latest. The podcast has allowed me to enhance my skills in production, personal branding, the Adobe Creative Cloud, and much more.
On Campus, I’m an intern for Penn State Athletics in the Creative Video Department where I help cover all 31 of our varsity sports. Additionally, I help run the Penn State official social media accounts across all platforms through my strategic communications internship.
I'm also involved in many organizations, such as Penn State Network Television (PSNTV), where I serve as Treasurer and hold executive roles in many of PSNTV's shows, including being the Executive Producer of GameShow 101 and the Production Coordinator for Nittany Talk. These experiences have helped sharpen my skills in live studio production, team management, scripting, and graphic coordination.
My passion for sports also extends to photography, where I focus on capturing the emotion and intensity in every photo. Ultimately, my dream is to work in professional sports, but whether it's courtside, trackside, or on the field is still yet to be seen.
In my free time, I love to read, travel the world, spend time with my extended family in Brazil, and go out with friends.
